Poster design based on a scary movie soundtrack called “Sinister.” It was a movie made in 2012 about a family that moves into a haunted house where the previous owners died. Christopher Young is the composer of this film and he is known for his unbelievable scoring skills.
The Imperial theatre of Montreal invites Christopher Young to perform his Sinister soundtrack live. The release of his album would need a poster and an invitation card designed. The challenge was to create a scary poster to tempt people to attend the show.
Photography seemed like the best outcome for this project. With the use of proper camera and lighting I could ensure that the quality would be impeccable. An up close photograph of a stretched out face with veiny eyes rolled back gives off an evil feeling. Creating a grainy black and white edit in photoshop seemed appropriate for the darkness of this poster. The sharp type with the colour red was the perfect touch to pull the poster together and create a sinister feeling.
